What is a Medical Oncologist?

"Cancer is a disease of cells—the building blocks of tissue in the body. Inside of cells are coded instructions, called genes, for building new cells and controlling how cells behave. Changes in genes, called mutations, can cause normal cells to become cancer cells. What causes genes in cells to change isn’t fully known (nccn.org, 2019)."

When will I get my lab/imaging results?

If you've received an order from our doctors that you need to get labs done and/or imaging done (CT scan, MRI, PET, etc.), make sure you remind the imaging staff that you need a CD copy.

The imaging facility will send our office a copy of the paper results, which our providers will then review.  When you come in for your follow up, we will give you a copy of those results for your records, and the doctors will discuss the results with you.

We do not review labs or imaging results over the phone.
